Jammin’ For the Jackpot: Big Bands and Territory Bands of the 30s (1977)

This New World Records release was only issued in vinyl and has not as yet been re-issued as a CD. This is just a plain fun recording if you like big band era music. There are 16 tracks ranging from well known ensembles like Chick Webb and His Orchestra and Cab Calloway and His Orchestra to more obscure ensembles like Lloyd Hunter's Serenaders and Zach Whyte's Chocolate Beau Brummels. The mp3 files are only 96 kbps, but there is no sense in anything higher as this is a vinyl transfer of a monophonic recording. Also included in the download are scans of the LP, including pictures from the inside.
